Welcome to Elms Class

Elms is a calm, nurturing and supportive learning environment where all pupils are given the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. We are a mixed Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 class where each child follows learning that is carefully matched to their stage and ability. As well as focussing on developing solid foundations in academic subjects, we also support emotional understanding and regulation, with strategies, tools and quiet spaces available whenever they are needed.

Elms is a learning space where we have fun, take part in hands on experiences and support one another. We develop resilience by completing activities which challenge us and mistakes are normalised; you have to get it wrong until you get it right. Progress and achievement are celebrated with every opportunity to boost confidence and self-esteem. We promote curiosity and love of learning in our friendly, kind and supportive classroom.

Mrs Storey

• I have a three-year-old daughter called Phoebe.
• I love travelling even though I’m not keen on flying! I have been all over the world and have even been to Perth in Australia. I haven’t got a favourite destination but I have many on my bucket list.
• My favourite animal is a cat. 
• I enjoy long walks in the sunshine; especially along the coast.

Mrs Shakesby

• I have two children. A seven-year-old boy called Evan and a three-year-old girl called Emily.
• My favourite food is Lasagne.

• I was once in a television advert.
• My favourite sports are Rugby, Football and Pickleball.
