Welcome to Rowans Class

We are a mixed Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 class who love learning together and supporting one another. Our classroom is a nurturing, inclusive space where every child is encouraged to grow, explore and achieve.

The children in Rowans Class learn within a highly visual environment, supported by a range of strategies such as songs for the sequence of the day, visual timetables and planned movement breaks. Daily activities are structured to help children understand and manage the routines of the school day. We also provide access to both indoor and outdoor learning areas, enabling children to engage in the continuous provision across movement, sensory and curriculum‑based activities. The children will complete Attention Autism tasks focusing on the children’s attention, engagement and communication through highly motivating, visually stimulating activities delivered in structured stages.

We use a total communication approach, including Makaton, communication boards and visual aids, to ensure all children can express themselves and understand others. PE days are Monday and reading books are changed every Friday.

In Rowans Class, we value kindness, curiosity and teamwork, and we work hard to make our classroom a happy, supportive and inspiring place to learn. We also value strong partnerships with parents and carers, and we share daily updates through Class Dojo so families can enjoy seeing what the children have been learning and experiencing in school.
